All shifts at a glance: the list view

When to use Flooptimize’s shift list: see all shifts (including ones not linked to an event), filter by person, role, or status, and get overview without event context.

Not every overview in Flooptimize answers the same question. Sometimes you want to plan in the context of an event or a day. Sometimes you want to see all shifts that exist, including ones that are not (or no longer) linked to an event, and filter on that.

That is what the list view is for: shifts as rows, without first going through an event or planning canvas.

What makes the list different

The list shows shifts that exist in your operation. Including shifts that are not linked to an event. You get a cross-section of your whole set, not only “what is on this event”.

Planning views (event, day, lanes, calendar) are stronger when you work in that context: who is where, what is still open, do shift times line up with event times. Filling open shifts belongs there, not in the flat list.

Where the list is useful

In practice you use the list mainly like this:

  1. By person - all of someone’s shifts, across events
  2. By role or function - only service, only kitchen, only hospitality
  3. By status - for example what is already scheduled, or another status you distinguish
  4. Without event context - general insight and scans across your whole shift set

You filter down to the set you need now. Everything else stays out of view.

When another overview fits better

The chain around it: from event to payout.

When you do not need the list yet

Small team, everything lives inside one or two events, and you always plan from that context? Planning views take you far. Once you need to look across events, find unlinked shifts, or filter by person or role, the list pays off.
