How it works in practice
The shifts are already there. They come from your shift templates and shift rules: time, place, which function or role belongs with it. Smart scheduling is about who fits, not about inventing the shift again.
You open personnel planning. On an open shift you see who fits, based on availability from the portal plus function, role, and concept. You click the suggested worker, or you pick someone else. The suggestion is a starting point; you stay in charge.
What it leans on
Without clear functions, roles, and concepts, matching stays guesswork. Without availability in the portal, the suggestion is incomplete. Without a decent shift setup, the system does not know what needs filling.
In short: first set up how your company works, then take suggestions. Small team, almost always the same people? Then you click yourself, and the suggestion is often unnecessary. Once the flex pool grows, it saves laying lists next to each other.
